Creole shrimp

Serves 4

Tip: Store leftover Creole seasoning in an airtight store for up to 1 month. Add to cornbread, stewed chicken, rice or soups.

  1. Add 2 1/4 tablespoons paprika.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon kosher salt.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon garlic powder.
  4. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper.
  5. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder.
  6. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper.
  7. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons oregano.
  8. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme.
  9. Mix well until combined.
  10. Add 2 teaspoons canola oil.
  11. Add 1 cup chopped onions.
  12. Add 1/2 cup chopped green pepper.
  13. Add 1/2 cup chopped celery.
  14. Saute 8 minutes.
  15. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  16. Add pinch of cayenne pepper.
  17. Add 3 medium chopped tomatoes.
  18. Add 1 teaspoon chopped garlic.
  19. Add 1 bay leaf.
  20. Simmer 2 minutes.
  21. Combine 1 pound shrimp and 2 teaspoons Creole seasoning.
  22. Add 1/2 cup water.
  23. Add 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour.
  24. Add dash of tabasco sauce.
  25. Pour in flour mixture.
  26. Add seasoned shrimp.
  27. Cook 5 to 8 minutes.
