For confusion related to low blood sugar (glucose), consume a sweet drink or snack.

When to seek immediate medical care

See a doctor immediately if:

  • Chilled, shivering, or fever
  • Feeling faint, dizzy, or lightheaded when standing
  • Racing pulse
  • Headache
  • Slow or fast breathing
  • Confusion lasts more than 10 minutes if related to low blood sugar (glucose)

When to make a doctor's appointment

Make an appointment to see a doctor if:

  • Any symptoms of confusion
