Overview

Molluscum contagiosum is a viral skin infection that results in round, firm, painless bumps. Scratched bumps can spread infection to surrounding skin. The condition spreads through contact with an infected person or object.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of molluscum contagiosum is itchy, round, skin-colored bumps.

Treatments

The bumps usually clear up on their own. Medicine or surgical removal of the bumps may be needed.
