Hyperemesis gravidarum

Description

A severe type of nausea during pregnancy.

Overview

Rarely, morning sickness is so bad that it turns into hyperemesis gravidarum. This can cause ongoing vomiting, which can lead to extreme loss of body fluids.

Symptoms

Symptoms include ongoing nausea and vomiting. There might be less urine, dark-colored urine, and a feeling of fainting or getting dizzy after standing.

Treatment

This condition might need treatment in a hospital. Treatment includes getting fluids through a vein and anti-nausea medicines.
