Connective tissue disease refers to disorders affecting the material in the body that gives tissues their shape and strength. The disorders often affect the muscles, joints and skin. There are many different types of connective tissue disease.
Symptoms
Symptoms vary depending on the specific type. Early symptoms often involve swollen fingers or hands. Fingertips may become white and numb in response to cold or stress. Muscle and joint pain also can be symptoms.
